The HBRP (High Burnup Rim Project) is an international project to study the rim structure observed at high burnup LWR fuel.
The mission is
1. identification of conditions of the rim-structure formation (burnup and temperature),
2. investigation of material properties and performance following the restructuring, such as
   • thermal conductivity (thermal diffusivity and specific heat)
   • gas release and material behavior at annealing,
3. investigation of mechanisms of the rim-structure formation.
